"And all the people could see the sounds." Exodus 20:18
When Yahveh presented Israel with the Torah, all creation listened to Him proclaim,
"I am Yahveh, your Elohim." When Yahveh revealed Himself to Israel, the whole world fell silent. Had Israel not accepted
the Torah, the universe would have come to an end. But that wasn't enough. Not only did they hear his voice, they
also saw Yahveh’s voice and the sounds that emerged from the mouth of the Almighty! It was not the sounds
of the shofar that accompanied the giving of the Torah but the Voice of Yahveh Himself.
Why did Yahveh perform this unusual miracle? The Rabbis explain that Yahveh was teaching that each
one of us should fully know and understand the Torah. Every teacher should teach his student so clearly that they can walk
away feeling as if they were actually there. We are to dedicate our lives to every word that proceeds out of the mouth of
Yahveh until we can almost see it.
"Taste and See that the Word of Yahveh is Good."
