There was a process that was necessary when an Israeli soldier wanted to take a wife from
the other side. Part of this process was that she would cry for her father and mother for a month. The month of crying
was to show compassion for the woman, as she would find inner peace through her crying. A whole month
was also the amount of time necessary for her to remove the name of her idols from her mouth and heart.
It takes a full month, a thirty-day period of intensive work, to really change. You
may try to work on a trait for a day or two, but when you don't see improvement you become discouraged and
give up. In order to improve any trait, give yourself thirty days of serious effort in order to see
visible changes.
Some people are able to make changes very quickly, but even they need a significant amount of time in order
to ensure that the new habits become second nature. Even if you do not see any positive changes the first week or two, if
you will persevere for an entire month you will begin to see the fruit of your labor.
